Warm greetings I am the principal practitioner at Klinic Sofia. For most of my life I have involved myself in the practice of professional medicine.  Over this time I have acquired the knowledge and experience to offer professional advice regarding the contemporary management of sickness and disease. I have extensive medical qualifications and decades of clinical experience in emergency and family medicine. In addition, I have undertaken significant post graduate training in prescribing a wide range of natural medicines, homeopathics and traditional therapies. At Klinic Sophia I integrate and complement best evidence-based science with ancient healing knowledge to offer health care that is safe and trustworthy.

I began my medical career in 1990 working as an Ambulance Officer in Victoria and South Australia graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2001. Whilst working as an intensive care paramedic I was awarded the Australia medal (ASM) for national emergency service duty.  Following over a decade of ambulance field work I pursued new employment as a clinical educator at Flinders University and whilst working as a lecturer I applied for acceptance into medical school. I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Surgery & Bachelor of Medicine receiving a university scholastic award for ‘outstanding academic merit’.

After completing two years of hospital training, I became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of GP’s and in 2012 began family medicine practice at The Melbourne Therapy Centre.  Whilst working as a GP I pursued further post graduate studies in Anthroposophic medicine. This study required working as an integrative doctor at a Steiner clinic and overseas training at hospitals in Germany, India and Switzerland for final EU accreditation as an Anthroposophic physician.

After a decade of working as an Anthroposophic doctor in Melbourne I moved to coastal NSW and was employed as an integrative GP at the Bellingen Healing Centre.  In 2021 during the COVID pandemic, I retired as a doctor from mainstream state medicine.

I now serve as a private health consultant at Klinic Sophia in addition to helping my partner Sophie manage her Steiner early childhood education centre. In my time off when I am not building my castle, engaging with children, gardening or trying to write my book, I have three Kelpie/Collies in my face demanding beach time.
