Mark Sean O'Meadhra ASM.

Warm greetings I am the principle practitioner at Klinic Sofia. For most of my life I have involved myself in the practice of professional medicine.  Over this time I have acquired the knowledge and experience to offer trustworthy advice regarding the contemporary management of sickness and disease.  In addition I have undertaken significant post graduate training in prescribing a wide range of natural medicines and traditional therapies that can complement and enhance any conventional medical care.

I began my medical career in 1990 as an ambulance officer graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2001. Whilst working as an intensive care paramedic I was awarded a national medal (ASM) for emergency service duty. Following over a decade of ambulance field work I pursued new employment as a clinical educator at Flinders University. Whilst working as a lecturer I applied for medical school and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Surgery & Bachelor of Medicine receiving a scholastic medical award for ‘outstanding academic merit’

After completing hospital training I became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of GP’s and began family medicine practise at The Melbourne Therapy Centre.  Whilst working as a GP I pursued further post graduate studies in Anthroposophic medicine. This study required ongoing peer mentorship at a Steiner medical clinic in addition to overseas hospital training in Germany, India and Switzerland for final accreditation as an Anthroposophic physician.

After a decade of working as an Anthroposophic doctor in Melbourne I moved to coastal NSW and was employed as an integrative GP at the Bellingen Healing Centre.  In 2021 during the COVID pandemic I decided to retire as a doctor from mainstream medicine.  I now serve as a private health consultant at Klinic Sophia in addition to helping my partner Sophie manage her early childhood Steiner education programs.  In my time off when I am not building my castle, gardening or trying to write my book, I have three Kelpie/Collies in my face demanding beach time.
